3rd fleece just 3 months after shearing!

REWIND

Rewind was the White Color Champion at the West coasts largest alpaca show in 2006, the Alpaca Western Extraveganza (AWE), and 2nd place 2 year old male at AOBA competing in 3rd fleece against virgin and 2nd fleece Accoyo's!

Rewind had the lowest Mean Scale Frequency (MSF) in our landmark study of suri fiber, using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).  Rewind has just 4.5 cuticular scales per 100 micron.  (Most suri alpacas have 7.5 scales/100 micron).  He is demonstrably the brightest white suri alpaca in America.

Even more remarkable is the fact he is so fine and well locked.  19.1 micron at 24 months age with 2nd fleece, while weighing an impressive 176 pounds.  4.3 SD, 22.5 CV, 2.3% over 30 microns.  5.0 pound heavily skirted second blanket.

First in Class and Color Champion:

2006 AWE 2 year-old White male.  White Color Champion.

2nd:

2006 AOBA nationals 2 year-old male.

WRSR PERUVIAN ILLUSION

We recently purchased Illusion from Allen and Patti Anderson, whose suris we have always appriciated for their fineness and luster.  Illusion has had an incredible show record, winning the juvenile MF championship at the AOBA show in 2003, followed by a championship as a 2 year old in 2004, and fleece championship in 2005.

One of his first two crias won 2nd place at the 2006 AOBA show.

LEBRON OF PVA

LeBron is the first breeding Kobe son, and was featured on the cover of Alpacas magazine.  He was purchased in lively bidding at the 2005 AAA Futurity sale.

His strengths are coverage, follicular density, and a deep colored suri pedigree.  Like Rewind, Illusion and Top of the Class, he has the sweet, trusting personality we breed for.

COSMO

When we think of what a perfect suri alpaca phenotype should look like, Cosmo immediately comes to mind. This beige male is truly out of this world. He is 37 inches tall to the withers and 175 pounds.  He is alert and curious, a characteristic he passes onto his crias, Lots of Locks, one of our favorite white females and Ego Boost, who was 1st juvenile black at the Alpaca Western Extravaganza and 2nd place yearling black in a class of twelve at the 2004 AOBA national show.  Cosmo is the sire of Rewind, one

of the most advanced suri alpacas in the world.

HIGH INTEREST

In terms of the suri business, High Interest promises many happy returns on your investment. He produced a 7-pound blanket on his third shearing.  His closest pen mate produced a 5-pound blanket.  (A 3 pound blanket for the virgin fleece is typical of the suri alpaca population at large).

High Interest is the sire of Tillman's Life of the Party, purchased by Dr. Ken and Claudia Raessler at the 2006 AAA Futurity.  Life of the Party went on to win 3rd place DB suri female at AOBA, and became the Grand Champion of the 2006 Suri NEtwork all-suri fleece show in Estes Park, Colorado.  Life of the Party scored 83 points, the highest fleece score at the largest suri fleece show ever held!
